In 2015: We listen to Spotify free of legal action.
In 1999: Everyone was reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
In 2015: Everyone has read all seven of Harry Potter books, seen the eight movies and visited the theme park at Universal Studios.
In 1999: The human population surpassed six billion.
In 2015: The human population is more than 7.3 billion.
In 1999: Lance Armstrong won his first Tour de France.
In 2015: Lance Armstrong has none of his seven Tour de France titles.
In 1999: MySpace was introduced to the Internet.
In 2015: Kids are flocking to Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat to escape parents on Facebook.
