A Note from the Dean

A Note from the Dean

Dr. Diana Rogers-Adkinson, Dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Studies

The College of Education, Health and Human Studies prepares students in disciplines that address mind, body, and soul. We have the state-of-the-art technology available for educator preparation and are working to expand our technology-rich instruction across the college. Our innovation resulted in us being recognized as an Apple Distinguished School. We also have 14 accredited programs within our college. We have so many majors to choose from that allow students to develop talents from nursing to kinesiology. If a student’s goal is to work in service to others, we have a program to do so.

All of our programs are heavily engaged in experiential learning. We place students in clinical experiences both on- and off- campus in the discipline. We have extensive relationships with community agencies to ensure our students have the hands-on experiences they need to enter the profession.

We also provide a lot of resources to the community. We run a number of agencies that provide direct service to children and families including the Autism Center and the Speech and Hearing Clinic. Students have opportunities to work in these centers as well.
