A Note from the Dean

A Note from the Dean

Marsha Blanchard, Dean of Regional Campuses at Kennett, Sikeston, and Poplar Bluff Delivery Site and Cape College Center

The regional campuses were established to make a college education and degree attainable to students who, for a myriad of reasons, would otherwise not be able to pursue one. They are students who want to stay home to work on the farm. They are students who can’t afford to “go away” to college. They are students who work a full-time job and go to school at night. They are students who have a family. They are students who sometimes know no one who has a college degree. They are students who simply love their hometown and aren’t interested in leaving.

Since opening, thousands of students have attended one of Southeast’s regional campuses where they can now earn a degree in 10 programs. College should be available to everyone. I’m proud to say Southeast held that value long before the internet made it a reality.
