Giving Day 2018

24 Hours
12 Projects
1 SEMO Family
Last year, Southeast took a new approach to its annual Giving Day. It asked departments to share projects needed for students that hadn’t yet been implemented because of funding. From funding a student’s research project to conference travel to a 3D printer and more, the day saw every one of the projects funded at a total of $23,275, exceeding the goal by nearly $10,000.
Sincere thanks to the 225 donors who participated, shared on social, and cheered along as funds were raised to impact and improve educational opportunities to Southeast students. And, special thanks to the late Dr. Shelton “Butch” and Glenda Smith who made a generous match to help make the day a success. Butch sadly passed away shortly following Giving Day, but the difference he made in the lives of students lives on.
