Southeast Accreditation Reaffirmed

The reaccreditation process at Southeast began in spring 2018 and was followed by a series of events: Higher Learning Commission (HLC) site visits to the Kennett and Poplar Bluff campuses in October 2018, HLC workshops for faculty and staff in November 2018, submission of the University’s Systems Portfolio in December 2018, administration of a student opinion survey in spring 2019, gathering of third party comments from community members, alumni, students, and other stakeholders in the summer of 2019, and the submission of a Quality Highlights Report. Copper Dome Scholarship Program

More than 70% of first-year students at Southeast received scholarship aid during the fall 2019 semester. The University’s Copper Dome Scholarship Program offers test-optional criteria, superscoring and stackable awards. The program also offers a straightforward renewal criteria. Students can combine their awards with endowed scholarships and need-based aid they receive, including the Federal Pell Grant. The Copper Dome Scholarship is progressive, meaning it can increase every year if certain renewal criteria are met. Knowing I can receive more with each year I do well really motivates me to succeed. Rising in the Rankings

Southeast Missouri State University has been recognized among the top 100 best regional universities in the Midwest, according to the 2021 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings. Southeast is ranked 76th among the best regional universities in the Midwest, up two places from its 2020 ranking. Institutions classified as “Regional Universities” offer a broad scope of undergraduate degrees and some master’s degree programs. Best in the Midwest

Southeast Missouri State University is recognized among the best regional universities in the Midwest, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company lists Southeast in the Best in the Midwest section of its “2021 Best Colleges: Region by Region” website feature. Southeast is one of only five public institutions in Missouri named a “Best in the Midwest” school. The Princeton Review salutes 655 colleges that it recommends over five regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West and International.
